A personal exhibition of the artist David Sulakauri / April, 7-27/
The exhibition presented David Sulakauri’s works executed on religious themes. Modern society brings up a lot of questions and problems for discussion to church painting. One part of the artists following canonical dogma tries to emphasize its personal individual style. The other part tries to dissociate from what it creates and to limit itself by only keeping within historic rules and standards. The issue is actual and significant in various ways, that was proved at the seminar – “Modern Religious Painting” – held in the frames of the exhibition. Tamar Khosroshvili presented her report – Modern Church Painting.
