    Cultural Heritage of Pontic Creeks in Ceorgia

    An illustrated book considers activity of the Greeks from Ponto who in the 19th century in several phases came to settle in Georgia. Their activity was based on samples of architecture, mural painting, easel painting, or liturgical art. Nearly all corners of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries Georgia bear significant traces of Greek craftsmen – stonemasons and iconographers. This book serves to expose a general picture of their work.

    “Culture and Artistic Life in the First Republic of Georgia (1918-1921)” is a publication, dedicated to the short-lived independence of the country, containing two essays: “Culture and Art in the Independent Georgia (1918-1921) by Vakhtang Beridze and “Architecture and Construction Activities in 1917-1920 Georgia” by Dimitri Tumanishvili. The book is richly illustrated with the artworks of 1918-1921, photographs of the personalities active in that time period and various historical documents, the full English translation of the Georgian text is provided and the annotations are attached to the illustrations.

    Exhibition of works of an artist and graphic painter Jemal Lolua in the Centre exhibition hall Ars Georgica (29.12.17 – 12.01.17)

    The exhibition was dedicated to Jemal Lokua’s 85th anniversary. Jemal Lolua (1932-2001) was a representative of the generation that in Georgian fine art history is called the generation of the 50s. He played a significant part in the history of devolopment of the 20th century Georgian easel graphic painting. Also, the artist’s creative activity in the direction of book illumination, posters, caricatures, script and ex-libris has to be mentioned.

    მხატვარ-გრაფიკოს ჯემალ ლოლუას ნამუშევრების გამოფენა.

    გამოფენა მიეძღვნა მხატვარ ჯემალ ლოლუას დაბადებიდან 85 წლის იუბილეს. ჯემალ ლოლუა (1932-2001), ქართული სახვითი ხელოვნების ისტორიაში ე.წ. 50-იანელთა თაობის წარმომადგენელია. მან მნიშვნელოვანი როლი შესარულა XXს.-ის ქართული დაზგური გრაფიკის განვითარების ისტორიაში. განსაკუთრებით აღსანიშნავია მხატვრის მოღვაწეობა წიგნის გრაფიკის, პლაკატის, კარიკატურის შრიფტისა და ექსლიბრისის მიმართულებით.

    American graphic artist, one of the most rating contemporary authors David Mack

    On 17. 10. 2017 the Centre was a host to the works of a well-known American graphic artist, one of the most rating contemporary authors David Mack. It was the iniciative of the USA Embassy in Georgia. After the exhibition the work-shop was organized where the artist spoke about his creative work ; he even showed the audience how he worked with the material.

    დევიდ მაკის ნამუშევრების გამოფენა.

    17.10.2017 – საქართველოში აშშ-ს საელჩოს ინიციატივით, ცენტრმა უმასპინძლა ცნობილი ამერიკელი გრაფიკოსის, თანამედროვეობის ერთ-ერთი ყველაზე რეიტინგული ავტორის დევიდ მაკის ნამუშევრების გამოფენას.
    გამოფენის შემდგომ მოეწყო ვორქ-შოფი, სადაც ავტორმა თავად ისაუბრა საკუთარ შემოქმედებაზე და მეტი თვალსაჩინოებისათვის შეკრებილთ ეტაპობრივად უჩვენა თუ როგორ მუშაობს მასალაში.
